Session: STRAND M, SESSION 1: High School Implementation of Schoolwide Positive Behavior Supports: Successes and Lessons Learned
Abstract: Schoolwide positive behavior supports is being implemented in high schools across the United States. In June of 2009, the OSEP Center on PBIS conducted a national forum of high school implementers during which implementation strategies, outcome data, and lessons learned were presented. Presenters describe recommendations from the forum, recent research efforts, and implementation resources. An opportunity for discussion and questions will be included.  (13642)

Abstract: This session will discuss the need for change and innovation in teacher preparation programs to train preservice and inservice personnel to meet the expert level of training required to analyze, develop, and effectively deliver tertiary level interventions to students with academic and/or behavioral needs. Learn about two teacher training efforts to prepare teachers to meet the demands of multi-tiered models and the provision of tertiary level interventions in reading and behavior.  (13643)
